Arts and Science is seeking an experienced Senior Educational Technologist to join the Educational Technology team. This individual will manage complex curricular design and development challenges and higher-Profile projects, and will have oversight over the technology-enhanced educational needs of a portfolio of departments/programs. General responsibilities include strategic coordinated faculty engagement efforts, including the design, creation, and delivery of workshops and training materials; collaboration with university-wide service partners in the support of teaching and learning; and design and oversight of technical projects. This position will also work closely with the Director to develop robust and sustainable strategies for communications and outreach, and to mentor junior staff.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in educational technology, interactive technology, or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.
Required Experience: 5+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination designing and implementing interactive experiences for hybrid and/or online learning environments. Experience applying instructional design principles and pedagogical best practices for increasing learner motivation and active learning. Evidence of advancing knowledge through targeted professional development efforts.
Preferred Experience: Demonstrated use of integrating technology into teaching and learning initiatives. Experience implementing educational technology solutions at the college or university level.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Intermediate knowledge of educational technologies; multimedia software. Understanding of current teaching practices, educational theories and methodologies. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience teaching informally or formally within higher education. Experience with eLearning authoring tools, social and collaborative tools, web development, and/or digital video/audio production software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere with high standards for quality and creativity. Experience with disciplinary trends such as maker initiatives or video games for learning a plus.
