Position Title: Executive Director of Information Technology
Salary: Mid $90,000s
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum of 7 years relevant experience required. Master's Degree preferred.
The Executive Director of Information Technology (IT) models professional behaviors that inspires confidence and encourages excellence in others while fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and collaboration that embraces the larger college community. This position serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the College and is responsible for maintaining the Information Technology Plan, provides emotionally intelligent, positive leadership for a multi-unit team of professionals in providing technology support to the College.
Provides high-level management and technical oversight to all information technology teams;
Compiles and Publishes IT Strategic and Operational Plans in alignment with the college-wide Strategic Planning Goals and maintains IT equipment replacement cycles;
Communicates IT plans and technology trends throughout the College;
Provides leadership for project management for enterprise, desktop and mobile computing solutions;
Oversees and monitors the installations and maintenance of VOIP phone systems, software and hardware to include voice, voicemail and voice transcription systems;
Develops and monitors Information Technology budgets and staffing plans;
Facilitates and maintains technical competencies of staff to meet current and changing end-user demands and industry standards;
Conducts end-user discovery sessions to formulate technical strategies to meet College requirements;
Provides high-level software/hardware oversight for information technology systems;
Oversees the coordination of academic software planning, custom installations and ongoing support in academic computing labs in support of learning and curriculum requirements;
Oversees the design, installation and support of multimedia systems to include accommodations in support of the ADA;
Maintains enterprise policies, procedures, training and safe-computing awareness to ensure protection of IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of data;
Communicates job expectations, planning, feedback and appraisals of direct reports;
Evaluates solutions with third party vendors to purchase cost effective hardware / software and data communications technologies and oversees related maintenance contracts;
Builds and maintains relationships with other SUNY institutions and personnel; and
Other duties as assigned.
