AUTM is the nonprofit leader in efforts to educate, promote and inspire professionals to support the development of academic research that changes the world and drives innovation forward through technology transfer. AUTM was recently awarded a multi-year grant to also support the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC). FLC is a nationwide network of more than 300 federal laboratories, agencies, and research centers that fosters commercialization best practice strategies and opportunities for accelerating federal technologies from out of the labs and into the marketplace. This position will support both AUTM and the FLC.

What you will do:
You will be responsible for all aspects of sponsor and exhibit sales from prospecting and initiating client sales for sponsorship, exhibition, and advertising for both AUTM and FLC conferences and events. Additionally, you will be responsible for application review, contract management, exhibit layout, and customer service.
Essential Functions include:
Having full responsibility for all sponsorship and exhibit sales.
Developing and executing strategies to expand services to new audiences.
Tracking, investigating and reporting sales information as well as resolving problems and responding to all project inquiries.
Managing and organizing all programs to ensure they are performing at or above plan.
Creating and managing multiple sales projects.
Working with design staff and graphic artists
Forecasting sales activities and setting performance goals accordingly.
Providing strong leadership and direction to the clients
Gaining trust, credibility and respect with the sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers, and AUTM and FLC staff and leadership.
Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for business degree preferred
Outside sales & customer service experience required
Experience with sponsorship, exhibition, and advertising sales required.
A proven track record of success is required, with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
High energy, versatile and multi-task oriented, self-directed, and ability to handle accurately diverse details at one time.
Ability to effectively use different and diverse software packages including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, CRM, as well as membership software for associations.
Good communication (written & verbal), reporting and proofing skills.
Must be a positive team player in a high-paced environment; includes working with and being dependent upon a variety of personnel.
Flexibility under competing time requirements and changing deadlines.
Excellent focus and a good sense of priorities.
