AVIXA (Audiovisual & Integrated Experience Association) is seeking a progress-driven, user-focused Content Strategist to mature the training products for AVIXA members. Reporting to the Director or Technical Training, the Content Strategist will oversee instructional design and manage a portfolio of training products. Other members of the curriculum team include content developers, instructional media specialist, and a technical advisor.
We’re embarking on a notable digital transformation and we need a teammate who can manages complexity and drive results. We expect and will empower this person to bring rapid content development ideas that we may not have yet considered.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Define content development initiatives based on talent development and AV industry trends and association goals and align them with specific learning outcomes and objectives
Ensure that ongoing learning projects contribute to association goals
Keep abreast of the association’s development initiatives to make all content complementary
Determine the best formats for content delivery
Collaborate with the Director of Learning Systems to ensure that IT and system infrastructure supports content formats
Lead the evolution of learning programs towards new media including video and virtual learning
Create and implement social learning strategy
Lead curriculum development scope, methodology, and process
Track schedules and deliverables; provide project status reports and risk assessments
Lead creation of new eLearning and instructor-led content and assessments by working with curriculum developers, industry experts and faculty, and by reviewing technical documentation
Consult on media development

Proven experience in instructional design preferably in a technical field
Proven experience in, or leading to, project management
Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing
Proficiency in English. Bonus points for additional language comprehension or fluency!
Passion for or interest to learn a lot about audiovisual systems and applications Experience using design thinking techniques a plus
Passion for working with subject matter experts or volunteers
Experience working with Learning Content Management Systems (such as Xyleme, IBM Premier/Kenexa,
Outstanding communication and people skills
Reliability and efficiency
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience Level: 5+ years in instructional design
Technical Skills: LCMS
Other skills: Fluency in English language and grammatical best practices, instructional writing and/or video/media production
