USCâs Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences: Office of Experiential and Applied Learning (ExL) is seeking a full time Program Administrator. This entrepreneurial, creative, educator will oversee the development of new experiential learning opportunities aligned with new undergraduate programming (in partnership with faculty/academic departments and/or local/global partners), design strategies for recognizing student learning through involvement in ExL programs (electronic badges, micro-credentials, transcript notations) and manages the development of an accessible database of Dornsife ExL opportunities aligned in academic courses and assist in ongoing maintenance and improvement of outreach and promotional materials and publications (including an interactive website, management of social media and electronic newsletters).
Work with faculty and ExL Program Directors to create innovative experiential learning programs for undergraduates from across Dornsife
Assist with summative evaluation of all projects to ensure that instruction is designed to produce effective learning and student success
Maintain current knowledge of research pertaining to experiential learning in higher education, emerging technologies, and digital spaces
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as an individual contributor and member of multiple internal and external teams and organizations
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, work independently, and meet strict deadlines
Oversee the development of an accessible database of Dornsife ExL opportunities aligned with academic courses
Participation in professional associations and cultivates professional contacts
Compose a variety of business communications, including correspondence, reports and other documents, proofreading and editing of materials prepared by others
Contribute to budget preparation
Provide training, support and direction to student staff
Serve as key resource for program information
Master's degree in education, educational technology, instructional systems, communications
5 years of experience in higher education program administration, experiential learning
Experience developing instructional materials for learning management systems, (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas) and database programs
Ability to work with faculty, departments, and programs, to identify, develop, and expand experiential opportunities
Capability to work with diverse off-campus partners
An ability to work effectively with students representing diverse backgrounds, interests, and levels of preparation
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to engage in and complete numerous projects concurrently
Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated competence to work well in a team-oriented academic environment
Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking
Ability to represent ExL Office in various college and campus-wide events and committees
Ability to independently compose letters, emails and memos (subject to review by supervisor)
