Position manages multiple projects and performs design for all aspects of site and landscape improvements for all campuses in the statewide system, including new construction, and renovation and maintenance of existing facilities. Works with other VP Capital Projects & Facilities (VPCPF) staff and users to define the exterior space needs, prepare budgets, and direct the work of outside architectural firms hired for each project. Monitors projects to ensure compliance with contractual plans, specifications and budget parameters.
Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program and two years of experience in the profession with demonstrated experience and advanced skill in project management / project communication.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Technical knowledge including expertise in site construction technology, site construction management, detailing, specifications, and Microsoft Office software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills alongside ability to work multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with AutoCAD, graphics and GIS software, and ability to produce specifications and construction drawings in these programs. Ability to deal with difficult political environments and complex relationships. Ability to understand and communicate complicated architectural alternatives and proposed solutions.
Experience in institutional, public works, parks & recreation, or planning capacities. Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Indiana.
