This position is responsible for managing large-scale, complex, highly-visible strategic initiatives at the direction of the Manager, Office of Project & Portfolio Services. Facilitating project communication within ITG groups is a critical task. The IT Project Manager has complete responsibility to implement information system projects within OHSU. Performing Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) and creation/evaluation of Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and other project life cycle tasks are expected of this position. This position may also be responsible for assigning tasks to other project team members and monitoring their progress throughout the project life cycle. This position might also be involved with managing vendor contracts.
Industry standard Project Management methodologies such as PMI, and standard OHSU structured project management processes are used to implement and support all work activities ranging from formal projects to daily work.This position is expected to perform the duties below with minimal guidance and supervision. This position requires independent judgment and expertise, especially in the areas related to consultation, training and development tasks.
Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or related field with experience in IT.
A masters degree in a related field may be used as a substitute for a year of experience.
Five years experience in a complex technology environment.
Five years or more paid work experience as a Project Leader managing and implementing large scale information technology projects.
Successful candidates must show that they have significant organizational skills and can lead projects from conception, schedule, design, testing, through implementation.

Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, while being collaborative in resolving problems.
Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person.
Must have a thorough understanding of industry standard principles of project management such as those defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (published by Project Management Institute).
