ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Integration Engineer 3 is an experienced analyst professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. The Systems Integration Engineer 3 position works under the direction of the Systems Integration Manager and will be directed by an assigned project manager in both project-oriented and some day-to-day operations of enterprise-wide interface analysis, design, troubleshooting, support, and testing activities. The Systems Integration Engineer 3 may lead projects as an assigned project manager. The Systems Integration Engineer 3 will have a variety of in-depth experience including knowledge of healthcare integration concepts; project management methodology, industry-standard data exchange formats such as HL7, structured testing, and the data integration and workflow requirements of both clinical departments and enterprise applications with an emphasis in Epic Electronic Health Record. Vast experience with the implementation and/or support of the Epic Electronic Health Record and clinical or business applications will be a significant advantage. Required Qualifications
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills/experience.
Exposure to healthcare interface and data integration concepts, such as HL7 and/or other industry-: standard data exchange protocols.
Possess outstanding communication, written and documentation skills; can communicate project details and objectives to managers, executives and clinicians.
Plans, designs, develops, modifies, and deploys complex systems integration solutions and engineers' complex solutions to address integration of vendor, community source, and locally developed hardware and/or software systems and subsystems to achieve an integration implementation.
Analyzes and assesses potential products during early project phases to identify components which can be integrated to achieve high level system objectives. Identifies, evaluates, recommends and implements changes to existing tools, or new tools needed, may research or coordinate with vendors to identify solutions.
Acquires and utilizes detailed business process knowledge in order to address technical objectives and address all phases of the business process and technical lifecycle.
Substantial experience with clinical information systems in an acute hospital or primary care clinic environment.
Leads technical collaboration teams on complex systems interconnectivity concepts, design, and testing requirements. Understands and organizes the requirements and changes and advises system and architecture groups on incorporating needed requirements and implement testing of completed requirements.
Required to pass Epic or other applicable certification exam in two attempts within three months.
Must be able to travel to Wisconsin or other location(s) to attend certification training sessions.
Knowledge of project management concepts and methodologies and a history of applying effective leadership to project activities to deliver project on time and within scope.
Knowledge and analytical skills for developing application and departmental workflow and data specifications for ADT, orders, results, etc.
Experience with Epic Bridges, Radiant, Prelude, Cadence, Resolute, EpicCare Inpatient or Ambulatory, Procedure & Medication Orders, OR significant experience with another EHR application or interfaces.
Certified in one or more Epic modules (Inpatient, Ambulatory, ED ASAP, Procedure Orders, etc.)
Experience with the analysis of clinical department processes and workflows
Demonstrate initiative, creativity and determination in handling challenges
Experienced with Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
Knowledge of HL7 Interface Standard
Epic Bridges Interface Facility
Ensemble or experience with another Interface Engine
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
