The purpose of this position is to promote the mission and activities of the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) to increase public health awareness, education, and resource for people with osteoarthritis and groups that support them.
-Proactively develop, distribute, and promote outreach messaging and materials including (but not limited to) social media messaging, digital newsletters, website news, member news, webinar and other resource blasts, infographics, email updates, etc., -Develop and maintain an editorial and social media calendar to track and manage upcoming communications and marketing opportunities and deliverables. -Maintain the OAAA website news feed, online Resource Library, posting webinar recordings online via website and social media. Review social media, website and other content for currency, accuracy, and relevancy. -Assist the OAAA Program Manager with regular maintenance of the OAAA email subscriber list and coalition membership. Also assist with overall project management for the OAAA including use of project management software. -Liaise with TARC communications team to coalesce and leverage messaging and outreach opportunities. -Ability to work well in a team setting. Ability to operate in a proactive, self-directed manner.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
The ability to work both independently and on small teams. The ability to follow direction under supervision, and sometimes adhere to short deadlines. Experience using social media and digital media tools and technology including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or similar social media management platforms. The ability to identify and research content relevant to arthritis and/or the target audience.
Strong interest in healthcare or public health and demonstrated ability to apply design and visual art concepts to layout of newsletters, web content, presentation materials, etc. preferred.
