ChristianaCare is seeking a summer intern for our Application Portfolio Management area!
The successful intern will focus on the application inventory and life cycle stages within the ChristianaCare IT application portfolio. The successful candidate will determine and document the application's life cycle stage, road map, and build a plan of action for identified applications. The intern will assist the Director of Application Portfolio Management with continuous process improvement pertaining to the newly developed Application Portfolio and Life-cycle Management program.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Partner with cross-functional teams to research their application inventory and analyze where the applications are in their life cycle
Assist the Director of Application Portfolio Management to build road maps and action plans for the applications analyzed in the inventory
Assist with coordinating various internal and external resources to ensure the appropriate levels of application asset management, maintenance, upgrades, succession planning and application life cycle stages are carried out
Assist with preparing and/or modifying system and process documentation pertaining to the application inventory and application life cycle framework
Assist with building a plan for the ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management deployment
Participate in the continuous process improvement of the Application Portfolio and Lifecycle Management program
Participate in meetings and project assigned work tasks
Assist other IT team members when needed
Provide weekly status reports to Director of Application Portfolio Management
Scope, purpose, and frequency of contacts:
Frequent contact with IT Director of Application Portfolio and Life-cycle Management. Maintain regular contact with all levels of caregivers (employees), vendors, IT Leadership, analysts and support staff in order to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Education and experience requirements:
Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related major (in progress)
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:
Basic knowledge of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process and project management controls, techniques and reporting would assist the intern but is not required
Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in teams
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to use a personal computer to perform duties
Knowledge of or ability to acquire a broad health system organization, processes and systems
Special requirements :
Ideally, access to a car to move between the various ChristianaCare locations, if needed.
