Job Description Summary
The Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center is seeking a Data Coordination Specialist to support the Centerâ™s data acquisition efforts for large pragmatic and comparative effectiveness trials and observational cohort studies. The Data Coordination Specialist must demonstrate a strong understanding of research concepts and data structures in the healthcare setting, and be able to discuss both technical requirements and study design considerations effectively with collaborators external to the PAIR Center. They will be embedded within project teams to develop, document, and execute data workflows, from protocol implementation and data collection planning to conducting data quality checks. This individual will also be responsible for establishing data use agreements (DUAs) on behalf of the Center; planning for data transfer, preservation, and destruction; and maintaining complete documentation. This position is contingent on funding.
The successful candidate must have experience transforming and exploring data files using data processing software such as SAS (preferred), R, Python, or Stata. Above all, attention to detail and the ability to clearly and concisely convey nuanced technical information to different audiences (project managers, investigators, technical and non-technical external stakeholders, statisticians/analysts, other data managers) will be essential to this individualâ™s success in the position.Â
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of data management and/or project management experience in healthcare research or a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience with data processing software (SAS preferred; R, Python, or Stata also valuable)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
