A successful PM/S&P Intern would assist the organization in meeting project objectives by working with staff to plan, evaluate, and help with project activities by working under the guidance the PMO. The Intern will also assist IT Finance and Vendor Management in validating and revising IT contract information.
Principal duties and responsibilities :
Work with the PMO team as designated to coordinate project work through scheduling meetings, detailing status and project artifacts/minutes, work with project manager to identify, plan and conduct evaluation of information for the project.
Conducts all aspects of assigned projects with professionalism, quality, on time and within budget. Coordinates/leads the efforts of assigned project members in all project endeavors including the implementation and transition of ongoing support of assigned projects.
With the PM; assures project gates are completed in a timely manner and that action items are resolved prior to project completion.
Under guidance from the PMO; maintains effective lines of communications and relationships within all stakeholder groups/impacted areas including but not limited to: Information Services, hospital departments, patients, staff and community as required.
Under the guidance of IT Finance and Vendor Management, assist in the population and validation of existing contract data in the contract management system.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting accountability for delivery of assigned projects with quality; and by exhibiting Christiana behaviors that exemplify the Values of Love and Excellence.
Submits complete and accurate status reports and time sheets for all assigned projects.
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree program, in healthcare, business, or related field (in progress).
Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements :
Basic knowledge of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process and project management controls, techniques and reporting would assist the intern but is not required
Skill in written and verbal communication.
Skill in presenting to groups of all technical and managerial levels.
Ability to use a personal computer to perform duties.
Ability to assume responsibility
Ability to acquire a broad hospital functional knowledge.
Physical demands :
Lifting and carrying of computer equipment.
