The Senior Research Assistant is a key position for the BRIDGE-C2 Center core team. Funded by the NIHs National Cancer Institute, this large center grant supports infrastructure including a postdoctoral fellowship, steering committee and pilot grant-making program. This position will support key initiatives within the BRIDGE-C2 Center and senior faculty investigators that are integral to achieving the BRIDGE-C2 aims.
The Department of Family Medicine conducts social science/population health research. The Senior Research Assistant is an integral member of a Research Team and works alongside the Principal Investigator, Center Manager, and core program leads. With limited supervision, this team member serves as the liaison for communication and logistics for the implementation of research activities in addition to being responsible for multiple components of the research activities. The Senior Research Assistant will work both independently and as part of a team, with an attitude of flexibility, taking initiative, and following through on a wide range of tasks. Responsibilities include:
Serves as a central point of contact across study teams to ensure timely and effective communication across teams by establishing and maintaining tools and resources to support infrastructure
Manages meetings, maintains documents/decision logs, and coordinates and plans events to support reserach activities
Provides support for Senior Investigators and Leadership team members
Serves as primary point of contact for Vice Chair's scheduling and support needs
Develops and updates content for communication outlets, overseeing assets management of these materials
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Bachelor's degree (4yr) with major coursework in related field plus 1-3 years of related professional experience
Intermediate skills in meeting management, event planning and coordination demonstrated through applied project management experience
Specialized knowledge related to research protocols, project management software, communications, and fundamentals of project management
Basic proficiency with some applied research experience in EndNote, Smartsheet, Box, etc.
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Ability to respond quickly to time sensitive tasks
Demonstrated effective time management skills, especially with competing priorities
Proven ability to function autonomously and exercise judgement with occasional supervision, especially related to identifying and implementing solutions
Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills while interacting with diverse stakeholders and in a variety of settings
Relevant professional experience in an academic medical center/higher education setting
Basic proficiency in Drupal, WordPress or other website platforms, basic proficiency with social media communication such as Twitter, HootSuite, etc.
