NYU's Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity available for a creative Assistant Director, Learning Design. A key member of the Learning Science group at the W. R. Berkley Innovation Labs, the Assistant Director, Learning Design will work with the Director to establish and codify learning design standards and ensure they reflect the state of the art. S/he will oversee adherence to established standards in all assets produced, services provided, and recommendations made to faculty and programs by the Learning Science Lab. The Assistant Director, Learning Design will oversee Stern's Faculty Consultation program and will develop and implement faculty, department, and program engagement and outreach strategies. S/he will lead the development of select online and hybrid courses, working collaboratively with faculty, educational technologists, and media production.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 3 or more years' relevant experience or equivalent combination designing for education using major authoring tools. S/he must have experience managing technical projects with diverse groups of people at different levels, with competing interests. Knowledge of instructional design theories and methodologies, and the ability to apply them is required. Experience teaching informally or formally within higher education is preferred. Experience with eLearning authoring tools, social and collaborative tools, web development, and/or digital video/audio production software is also preferred.
