The College Prep Academy of the NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools is seeking a full-time project assistant to support our work in providing career and college planning services to our participants and their families. The program is conducted on scheduled Saturdays at NYU however; participants and parents also attend events during the week on school holidays and in the evenings.
The position requires a well- organized individual with experience in planning and implementing a variety of services for a diverse group of youth and their families. The position although mostly program support including planning for weekly services also includes service related to instructional support and special events.
We are seeking a project assistant to support our CPA in the following ways:
Assist program director with day programmatic tasks including all recordkeeping, student files and scheduling for the CPA;
Review program advisement forms to develop weekly student and staff schedules;
Organize and prepare instructional and college planning materials needed for each activity conducted on Saturday and for special events;
Prepare and maintain attendance records, answer e-mails related to attendance and prepare weekly attendance reports for funding sources
Data collection and preparation of required lists for NYU admissions office, Office of the Protection of Minors and funding sources;
Organize and prepare training materials for staff and volunteers;
Manage project databases and develop as needed by funding sources;
Assist with planning and supporting special events including our Alumni Panel, Health Fair, Career Day, Internship training Day, Parent Open House, and Financial Aid workshops;
Transport materials to Classroom site/s on campus for weekly Sessions and special events ;
Support Director in obtaining and maintaining updated documents required by the program through follow up with students and parents, staff and community partners.
Ability to work with a diverse team who communicate remotely;
Effectively manage tasks to meet deadlines;
Administrative experience and demonstrated skills in the use of computer application software specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
