UW Medicine’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM) and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all of these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
The ITS Project Management Office (PMO) serves to provide a structured foundation to effectively and efficiently manage incoming and active projects within our portfolio through reuseable standards and streamlined processes. Projects include but are not limited to:
Epic practice management, revenue cycle, and other business applications
Ancillary and clinical support systems
Analytics solution and platform for regulatory, quality, clinical, and business reporting
Web solution for critical initiatives and the organization's digital communications
The Student Assistant – Project Manager Assistant (‘Student’) will work in the PMO and will be mainly focused on projects that are not managed by the PMO. So we call them non-PMO managed projects. Today, we have countless projects being managed outside of the PMO and have limited to no visibility. We don't know how they are being managed, we don't know dates and timelines, we don't know what the budget may or may not be. For these reasons, we are looking to bring in a Student that can help us wrap our arms around this work.
