Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time), the Digital Content Author on the Digital Marketing team in Corporate Marketing is responsible for writing best-in-class content to support public digital marketing channels including web, social, advertising and mobile.
The role will be instrumental in ensuring we push our practice to create truly differentiating experiences reflective of Northern Trust's capabilities and business objectives as well as user needs and behaviours.
The role is also responsible for delivering data-driven, actionable insights to the marketing & sales teams. Measurement tools and research will be used to recognise user patterns and trends to optimise program and site performance.
Additional tasks include:
Analysing metrics and goals to evaluate effectiveness in terms of brand efficiencies, business growth and return on investment
Working with an open and optimistic culture of experimentation, intellectual curiosity and rapid prototyping using agile methodology for large projects.
Collaborating with a cross-functional digital experience team to create compelling content that meets marketing objectives in a measurable fashion
Producing content for digital-first presentation in web, mobile and social channels
Bringing leading edge thinking and processes to the Digital team to push our presentation of content in new directions
Creating compelling promotional content for paid digital campaigns, search and marketing campaigns
Considering cultural nuances and accessibility requirements in crafting and editing content for the web
Maintaining taxonomy and tagging strategy for use on public channels.
Providing expert search engine optimization knowledge and ability to advise others on best practices
Carrying out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
The ideal candidate should demonstrate some of the following qualifications:
Strong writing, problem solving, presentation and storytelling skills
In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge
Highly flexible and adaptable, with a demonstrated history of embracing ambiguity and responding positively to change
Prior experience utilising collaborative/communication tools effectively e.g. Slack, G Suite, Skype, Outlook
Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative skills
A College or University degree and/or experience within an agency, in-house design team, as a contractor, or in a relevant design role is required
