Teaching and learning with Technology invites instructors to participate in the Faculty Learning Community (FLC).
The FLC is a three-month (February to April 2020) blended/hybrid format faculty learning community (FLC) that combines face-to-face, virtual, and online participation via the Canvas LMS, as well as other Web 2.0 tools as applicable, to explore the most recent findings in cognitive science, the characteristics of the adult learner, and instructional best practices in the college setting.
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
Actively engage facilitators and colleagues, in meetings and online, to build a community of practice that honors mutual respect and promotes empowerment.
Complete all activities in a timely manner to allow for feedback, reflection, and engaging discourse (includes readings, program activities, and online discussions/postings, face-to face and virtual meetings, and final project).
Share FLC topic related research findings with facilitators and colleagues.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Must have a graduate degree and have taught at least one course in higher education.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates are expected to be familiar with Canvas and PowerPoint, familiar with email, (send and receive email with attachments), apply digital tools and online resources, and collaborate in online environments.
