University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL) advances Portland State University’s educational mission through the provision of student success programs, high quality and accessible buildings, and a staff devoted to student engagement.
The Associate Director for Housing Operations serves PSU student population by managing all housing, assignment, Summer housing, Summer Conferencing, and billing functions for ~2,000 residents. Responsibilities include managing a large, complicated data structure and contract/billing processes while advising current and prospective student residents. The Associate Director supervises seven administrative operations coordinators and collaborates with a number of University staff. The Associate Director reports to and assists the Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life with the ongoing direction and management of people and the mission of University Housing and Residence Life.
Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or business or other related degree
Four years managing others
Four years experience in higher education, preferably in Housing and/or Residence Life
Knowledge and experience managing Housing infrastructure development and maintenance
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or business or other related degree
Previous university residence hall live-in experience
Project management experience
Housing operations experience
Experience managing summer conferencing
Experience managing capital projects
Skills with budgeting
