Lehman College is seeking a Technology, Teaching & Learning Manager for the School of Education. This position will report directly to the Director of Field Experiences and the Professional Development Network and will act as the School's senior administrator charged with oversight of the school's teacher performance assessment exam computer lab, teaching and learning professional development and related projects. Due to the demands of teacher certification requirements and the exponential growth of teacher candidates, one focus of this position is to contribute directly to student success on the edTPA New York State certification requirement.
The College is searching for a leader who has the experience and know-how to facilitate and support the use of technologies for teaching and learning with students, faculty and administrators. The Technology, Teaching & Learning Manager will demonstrate a deep understanding of learning theories and educational technology pedagogies and their relationship to program development. The Technology, Teaching & Learning Manager will collaborate with faculty and administrators on planning based on established best practices.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include:
Administer School of Education edTPA computer lab and research center
Consult with faculty in all aspects of the edTPA (Education Teacher Performance Assessment) exam in required content areas to create appropriate academic technology applications
Lead efforts to secure funding for technology initiatives; manage designated technology OTPS funding; provide guidance for student technology fee expenditures
Gather and analyze data; contribute to assessment and data-driven decision-making; develop reports as needed for ongoing program evaluation and make recommendations for enhancements
Provide support towards School of Education national accreditation (CAEP)
Hire and supervise college assistants who enhance support to teacher candidates in computer lab
Maintain School of Education website; Maintain online LUTE newsletter
Maintain and improve Blackboard learning management system online organization: School of Education Student Modules, self-paced tutorials
Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.
Mastery of educational technologies and online learning environments
Documented achievement in program development, administrative management, and staff supervision in an academic environment
Strong academic orientation to technology integration
Record of commitment to educational excellence and innovations in teaching and learning
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, and staff
All candidates will draft a writing sample as part of the interview process to demonstrate their ability to write memos and letters that are grammatically correct and express information clearly.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Collaborates with faculty and other educators to help integrate technology into teaching and learning activities.
Evaluates faculty requirements for training and development on instructional technologies, and prepares appropriate learning programs, seminars, and materials
Consults with individual faculty to enhance their use of technology for teaching and learning
Keeps the College community abreast of developments in instructional technology
Recommends improvements to College and University-wide instructional systems using a variety of technologies
Serves as project manager and designer for the evaluation and implementation of new instructional technologies
May manage a staff of technology professionals
Performs related duties as assigned.
