The Data Analyst will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research-Practice Partnerships and collaborate with other research and practice team members.
As a Data Analyst, you will work with a variety of data to assess both continuous improvement and systemic social and emotional learning implementation. Specific responsibilities will include:
Develop a systematic approach to analyzing both process and outcome data.
Determine how to translate a variety of data forms into a quantitative data set that can be used for reliable statistical analysis.
Prepare clear and compelling written documents and presentations for stakeholders who may not have experience working with complex data.
Generate insightful and/or innovative ways of using and presenting data that advance CASEL’s work and goals.
Analyze the impacts of implementation quality on social, emotional and academic outcomes for students and practitioners.
Create survey instruments, protocols, and/or reporting structures for CASEL’s school and district sites.
Interpret data to provide feedback and support to schools, districts, and states included in CASEL’s ongoing research.
Codify knowledge (practices & content) and support the development of dissemination products (e.g., white papers, and infographics)
Collaborate proactively with team members on all projects and work.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Sciences or Education with quantitative research skills, with comfort interpreting results from statistical procedures
Background in education (highly preferred)
Experience conducting statistical analysis, including executing descriptive statistics, correlations and linear and logistic regression analysis (required)
Experience with statistical analysis software such as R, or SPSS (Preference towards R)
Experience with mixed methods research and analyses
Ability to efficiently analyze information across longitudinal data sources using a variety of systems
Ability to critically assess challenges and identify flexible, effective solutions in ambiguous situations
Excellent project management skills, the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders and across organizations
