Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc (NTEC) is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of Manager of Power Supply located at its Corporate Headquarters in Longview, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Power Supply Administration
Manage NTEC’s power supply activities and contract agreements and the solicitation and evaluation of future power supply
Manage the timely, efficient, and economic dispatching of NTEC's generation resources
Provide timely and accurate reports to the GM/CEO and Executive Team, Membership and Board of Directors on plant performance and operations and maintenance
Establish metrics and prepare monthly reports for the CEO, Executive Team, Membership and Board of Directors
Assist with the coordination and development of NTEC's generating stations and purchased power annual budgets
Prepares annual departmental budget with the assistance and advice of the CFO and CEO
Make recommendations to GM/CEO regarding practices, procedures, and processes that facilitate operational efficiencies and/or cost improvements.
Collaborate as needed with regulatory entities monitoring and advising on the development of new regulations
As a member of management, actively participate in planning, revising, and implementing of overall strategies for power supply to meet demand needs
Oversee short and long range power supply planning and development
Direct the technical analysis on the cost and market risk of different wholesale supply options including a diversity of contract lengths, suppliers, and energy sources.
Evaluate and recommend power supply resources in accordance with strategy and vision
Ensure energy forecasts, plant operation and maintenance are complying with long-range goals and objectives
Participate in formulating and administering NTEC policies and development of long-range goals and objectives.
Effectively accomplish special projects in accordance with standards set forth by the GM/CEO
Evaluate and make recommendations relating to assigned projects and new business development
Project evaluation/project management for possible new plant(s) construction
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related degree. Course work in Computer Science, Economics, Power Plant Operations and/or Statistics is preferred
Graduate degree desirable
Additional training in project management, planning, operation and maintenance is preferred
Management training, including human relations, contract law, basic accounting and finance, business plan development, as well as basic electric distribution system operation and maintenance
Gas turbine operation, maintenance, combined cycle operation, maintenance, and thermodynamic cycle training desirable
Coal Plant operation training desirable
Strong interpersonal relations skills as demonstrated by the ability to work harmoniously with internal and external contacts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated skills in project management, problem-solving, decision-making and personal computer usage.
Strong management, interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills
Ability to review and evaluate subordinate level work
Strong analytical skills

Ability to develop subordinates for potential advancement
Minimum ten years’ experience in utility administration or the equivalent with supervisory responsibilities
