Reporting to the Chief IT Operations Officer, the IT Operations Manager - Security will provide a wide range of operational and administrative support to the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) IT team. The IT Operations Manager - Security will work with the Chief IT Operations Officer, the Chief Information Officer and the Chief Information Security Officer to improve overall security operations and manage the implementation of new security projects. The IT Operations Officer - Security is a technologically adept and proactive individual who has good management skills, a strong sense of teamwork and stellar communication skills. You will be asked to work side by side with our Security Office (ISO) project management team, as well as the Chief IT Operations Officer.
Work in coordination with the Chief IT Operations Officer, and with CUIMC ISO staff, to track and monitor security status and key metrics - 15%
Work with ISO to implement centralization of Certified IT Groups (CITGs) - 15%
Work with the CUIMC infrastructure team to include ongoing security review of IT services in coordination with ISO technical experts - 15%
Work with the CUIMC ISO project manager to track and monitor CUIMC mobile development services and applications - 10%
Create security training material including training manuals, tip sheets, communication, presentations and other educational materials - 15%
Assist CUIMC ISO project management in tracking information security projects across all CUIMC departments and through CUIMC IT - 10%
Create agendas, set up meetings/conference calls/webinars and take minutes as needed (10%)
Additional responsibilities as assigned by Chief Information Security Officer, Chief IT Operations Officer, and Security project management - 5%
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 4 years related experience in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead, interact, communicate and teach effectively with multiple disciplines within the medical center - physicians, nurses, office managers etc.
Ability to work independently and within a team setting
