Summary: Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing (PCEC) and Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence (CSCE) invites applications for the position of Full Stack Developer. The Administrative Professional position will design, development, modify, and enhance moderately complex web applications and database support for areas supported by the High Performance Computing technology team.
Required Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of full stack development experience
Knowledge of open-source PHP frameworks (Prado, Laravel, Symfony, etc)
Knowledge of Vue.js
Knowledge of SQL (MySQL, MSSQL, etc)
Experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) dev stack
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Project Management Skills (Agile)
Able to prioritize and balance competing needs
Works independently with minimal immediate direction
Passion for creating quality products that will solve problems and help others
Experience developing custom functionality for ERP or CRM systems
Works well with a team and individual project lead
Ability to gather requirements and user stories (Agile)
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
Creation and support of PCEC/CSCE web applications (Intranet, CRM, and more)
Responsible for providing consulting and support of custom application software
Interpret business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications
Responsible for maintaining database integrity and security using quality control mechanisms and system tools
Creation and implementation of server-side APIs and integration of external API’s
Optimization of legacy system PHP code (Prado) and SQL queries
