This position exists to develop technical leadership as the subject matter expert for instructional, event, lab, classroom, audio/visual, and collaboration technology across all Metropolitan State University campus locations (St. Paul Dayton's Bluff, Minneapolis, St. Paul Midway, Maplewood, and Brooklyn Park) for the Information Technology Services division at Metropolitan State University by planning, designing, implementing, administering, and managing technology that meets the needs of students, faculty, staff, and other constituents.

Bachelor's degree in technology related field or equivalent work experience.
3 years of current, relevant, hands-on experience providing IT support for instructional and event technology and equipment programming, configuration, installation, testing and design work.
3 years of work in a position requiring the daily use of customer service skills.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills sufficient to support the needs of other IT Services staff, interact with faculty, staff and students using non-technical language.
Knowledge of a broad range of IT software, hardware, network and troubleshooting techniques sufficient to diagnose and resolve IT issues and evaluate user needs and program equipment based on those needs.
Demonstration of ongoing professional development and best practice knowledge related to instructional, audio/video, and event technologies.
Knowledge and experience in design best practices for learning spaces and classrooms.
Strong ability to communicate information using various methods to both technical and non-technical users.
Experience programming A/V systems and proven ability to modify programming of existing systems as needed, including Extron/Crestron/AMX control systems.
Experience supporting live events.
Familiarity with live audio systems, including 7.1 surround systems and Digital Signal Processors.
Extron Control Specialist certification.
Recent experience working successfully on independent projects, as well as collaborative team environments.
Experience working in higher education with skills in coordinating daily activities of staff or student employees
Familiarity with IT Service Management best practices or ITIL certification
Extron Control Professional certification
Crestron Certified Programmer certification
Physical Requirements of the Job: Requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Even though the weights being lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls and also may include at times strenuous manual labor including but not limited to hauling, crawling, bending, pushing, pulling and climbing (Move, transport, position, put, install, remove).
