Looking for small town charm with uptown amenities? Our practice is nestled in the picturesque Allegany Mountains of Bedford Pennsylvania, an area with a rich history, yet full of contemporary amenities. Privately owned shops and boutiques as well as multiple upscale restaurants and bistros fill downtown while nearby Omni Bedford Springs Resort and Spa brings a touch of luxury to the area. The surrounding area offers several state parks as well as hiking and biking trails. Whether you are an experienced vet looking for a great area to put down roots or are a new graduate looking to work with vets who have experience in mentorship; we offer a great opportunity!
Our practice is a privately owned five doctor small animal practice. New associates are integrated into the practice at their pace and comfort level. Working with four other veterinarians means always having access to support when needed as well as ample experience to train you in the art of medicine and hone your decision-making skills. We also encourage the pursuit of special interests (i.e. orthopedic surgery, ultrasound, etc.). We are looking for someone who values individualized patient care from a team approach and who is open to learning from the experience of others. Additionally, as a privately owned practice, future partnership opportunity is available to those seeking the benefits of ownership. We offer very competitive benefits including exceptional retirement plan, paid vacation, fully paid health insurance, paid AVMA dues and PLIT, clothing allowance, CE stipend, a four-day work week, and a great work-life balance.
About Veterinary Medical Center
The Veterinary Medical Center, located on Route 30 east of Bedford PA, has been serving our community for nearly fifty years. We offer high quality patient care in a compassionate atmosphere while being supported by a great community with a wonderful client base. Having five doctors allows us ample time off with flexibility in scheduling while still always having veterinarians available to provide care for our patients.
We continually strive to advance the practice for the betterment of our patients and the community. For example, during the summer of 2019 we upgraded our facility adding a larger waiting room with separate dog and cat waiting areas as well as adding three additional exam rooms including a comfort room with private entrance. Additionally, we have adopted numerous fear free techniques to improve our patients’ experience. We view our patients as individuals and tailor care to their specific needs.
Current equipment includes digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, high-power dental drill/ultrasonic scaler, and in-house laboratory. We currently have 11 full-time and 3 part-time support staff members who are extremely knowledgeable and well trained. We... enhance our staff’s skill set by committing to weekly staff meetings that keep everyone up-to-date, educated, and in sync.
