The Krannert School of Management at Purdue University seeks nominations and applications for the position Executive Director, Krannert Professional Development Center. Serving as the lead career services and professional development officer for the Krannert School of Management, the successful candidate will oversee the school’s undergraduate and graduate career services organization and lead the team that coaches, counsels and professionally develops the school’s student population. The role reports to the dean and serves as a senior advisor on student recruitment, placement, corporate relationships and alumni engagement. The Executive Director will ensure that the school’s professional development team is aligned with the school’s vision, mission and brand strategy. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and versatile leader with the proven ability to provide strategic direction while being hands-on and inspire a team.
Purdue’s Krannert School of Management boasts one of the most globally diverse student population of any U.S. management school, and features multiple nationally and globally ranked academic programs. According to the Wall Street Journal, Krannert holds the 7th ranked Master’s in Finance program and the 9th ranked Two-year MBA program in the world. U.S. News ranks Krannert’s Undergraduate Business program as 21st in the U.S. Specialty programs in Production/Operations (#3), Supply Chain Management/Logistics (#8), and was recently ranked 1st in data science master’s programs at public and non-profit universities
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the ability to collaborate across disciplines and engage multiple communities both on and off campus.
Master's degree. Candidates who have an MBA or related MS degree in Human Resources from an AACSB-accredited business school is strongly preferred.
Established record of leadership experience in an academic or business environment. Experience in a large organization featuring multi-functional business units/programs is preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: career services, human resources, general management, counseling, student services, and/or related experience.
Ability to interact positively with all members of the campus community, corporate contacts and alumni.
Experience leading a team toward a common goal, emphasizing collaboration, respect and high performance.
Project management, analytical, sound reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Experience advising, mentoring, counseling, or recruiting graduate and professional students or new business professionals.
