Support trade compliance activities to be compliant with departmental and corporate procedures and with all applicable global, federal, state, foreign laws and regulations.
Maintain the GTC processes, procedures and work instructions relevant to all international trade and US government agencies (US Customs & Border Protection, BIS, Census, OFAC, FDA, APHIS, FWS, CITES, ITAR, DEA, USDA, etc.).
Research global market import/export admissibility of Donaldson product.
Support GTC Operations and Project Manager with regulatory guidance.
Responsible for the project work and continued execution of preferential trade programs by interacting with Donaldson’s Customers and suppliers.
Interpret global regulatory requirements and communicate how to operationalize within Donaldson.
Assist in execution of GTC strategy, standards and policy throughout Donaldson.
Build effective relationships with key Donaldson internal and external partners.
Collaborate cross functionally on sourcing optimization projects.
Incorporate industry best practices into Donaldson’s global trade compliance program.
Partner with Operations and Logistics to monitor daily operations and vet customs brokers during RFQ initiatives.
Assist with audit activities to demonstrate reasonable care in all areas of trade compliance through collaboration with Global Trade Operations, Logistics, ITS, Legal, Finance, Purchasing, etc. to assure adherence to all applicable global import/export regulations.
Support all pertinent Donaldson teams to explore cost-savings opportunities.
Conduct the GTC trade compliance training program for employees, its vendors and any designated affiliates.
Assure accurate trade compliance data: HS, export control classifications, country of origin, license requirements and Other Government Agency (OGA) data for customs purposes.
Educate Donaldson on proper terms and conditions of international sale, INCOTERMS, documentation requirements, etc.
Have in-depth knowledge of ACE reporting, Reconciliation programs and Import/Export metrics.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent professional experience
5 years or more experience in International Trade Compliance
Experience in interpreting and providing guidance on global regulations
Ability to be an independent contributor and work within a team environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; both written and verbal
Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and ACE reporting
US Customs Broker License
Strong cross functional collaboration skills and ability to influence others
Detail oriented and experience interacting with all levels of the organization
Ability to influence cross functionally in order to gain buy in to effectively implement/approve compliance programs
