NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Director, Endless Frontier Labs. Endless Frontier Labs, founded at New York University, Stern School of Business, guides scientific and technical founders through a performance-driven mentoring process. Participating startups receive access to mentorship, venture capital, and business development over the nine-month program. The Assistant Director will assist with startup recruiting, application screening, and cohort management and communications. S/he will support leadership with developing external business relationships and internal partnerships to ensure programs’ success and foster business development opportunities related to corporate partnerships. The selected candidate will identity and perform initial outreach with centers of innovation in US Universities and top foreign universities, venture capital funds, incubators & accelerators, and tech associations to build a strong pipeline of Endless Frontier Labs applicants. Additional responsibilities include utilizing project management systems and maintaining or improving upon day-to-day operations of the lab, supporting leadership with critical document creation for startups, and supervising clerical staff and student employees.
The selected candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years’ experience working in the startup/technology industry cultivating relationships, developing communications, developing programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in a STEM field and experience in startup and technology evaluation is preferred. Proven ability in relationship management and experience working on interdisciplinary teams are required. Candidates must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The selected candidate will be able to adapt quickly to changing scenarios with limited supervision and will take initiative to anticipate and respond to emerging needs. Experience and confidence working with high performing teams and multiple stakeholders is preferred. Proven ability to analyze startups is also preferred. Such abilities and knowledge include familiarity with early-stage financing and experience conducting market analysis, understanding of business models and drivers of success in startups across several verticals, and demonstrated ability to deploy technical expertise to evaluate startup technologies and their value in respective markets.
