Reporting to the Senior Director, Internal Controls & Compliance, the Monitoring & Internal Controls Manager will
work in close partnership with the ICAP leadership/team to successfully fulfill their mission, roles and responsibilities. (S)he will be responsible for coordinating and executing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities for ICAP country offices and NY headquarters. (S)he will develop and deploy tools to assess, coordinate, and improve ICAP's compliance efforts, identify and recommend improvement plans, and monitor the effectiveness of the corrective actions implemented.
Under the leadership of the Senior Director IC&C, the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager will:
Develop and implement continuous monitoring activities, and ensure quality and relevance of monitoring and evaluation design.
Evaluate compliance trends at ICAP, develop internal controls strategies, and influence processes and controls to reduce risks.
Analyze and report on monitoring results, develop improvement plans, and collaborate with local country offices on the implementation of proposed enhancements.
Determine ICAP needs and scalable solutions to solve process limitations through process mapping and workflows, observation and analysis.
Provide guidance, expertise, and coaching to ICAP teams to ensure successful execution and adoption of process changes.
Ensure process improvement efforts maintain direction and fulfill predesigned expectations.
Advise ICAP on how to meet regulatory obligations and assess the impact of proposed regulations through the evaluation of regulatory developments as well as implementation of required controls.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Senior Director IC&C.
Bachelor's Degree in auditing, accounting, business, public administration or related field and four years of related experience or equivalent in education and experience.
Demonstrated planning and project management skills required, as well as a demonstrated ability to collect
and analyze data, evaluate information and systems, and draw logical conclusions.
Highly developed business and analytical skills, an intimate knowledge of internal business processes in the
non-profit sector. Broad exposure to and experience working with financial spreadsheets, accounting and
financial management software.
Must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, and have sound judgment with
an open and collaborative style of work ethic that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the
immediate team to the broader organization.
Ability to prioritize, and set and meet deadlines and interface with all levels of management. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and autonomously.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting, data analytics, compliance, auditing, and internal control
systems within a complex international operating environment.
Professional certification - CPA, CIA, CFE, or equivalent.
Experience in planning and managing surveys.
Experience developing and refining data collection tools.
Experience with data quality assessments and oversight
Ability to travel to African countries 20 - 50% per year.
