Program Coordinator - Georgetown University's Capitol Applied Learning Lab
The Program Coordinator for the Capitol Applied Learning Lab (CALL) will help to manage the daily functions of the CALL, including managing the CALL's internal and external events; maintaining the CALL's website, social media, newsletter, and email under supervision from the Director and Marketing Manager; as well as the core administrative functions for the CALL, including assisting in the hiring and management of student workers, completing internal funds transfers, processing reimbursements and honoraria, and scheduling meetings and preparing relevant materials. In addition, the Program Coordinator will oversee the new CALL/GSP Idol Family Summer Fellows Initiative.
The Program Coordinator will report to the Director of the CALL. S/he will also work closely with the other Red House and Baker Trust staff to complete administrative functions related to specific projects and to coordinate meetings, agendas, and related materials. This position will also interact with staff in other curricular and co-curricular units on campus, including the Georgetown Scholars Program. This position will also maintain relationships with HR, MCFO, and MCOAA to complete HR and financial transactions. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage the Idol Family Summer Fellows Program
Oversee the Idol Family Summer Fellows Program, supporting 15 undergraduate students, in collaboration with the Georgetown Scholars Program.
Maintain initiative's budget and coordinate efforts to secure housing and disburse stipends.
Advise and oversee two student leaders to develop relevant weekly programming.
Market and oversee competitive student application process, tracking experience, and evaluation.
Collaborate with student participants to develop individual learning goals and programmatic mission.
Coordinate a Professional Development Day with industries, create professional development workshops and facilitate networking and alumni connections.
Manage outreach and communications, being present for 3-4 late night events over summer.
Process reimbursements, honoraria, contract requests, and internal journal transfers
Provide Marketing & Communications Support
Maintain and update CALL websites, blog, social media
Assist with the creation and distribution ofCALL Student Network newsletter
Manage incoming email to CALL inbox
Manage CALL Calendar of Events/Schedule
Create and maintain both internal and external schedule of events for students, staff/faculty, and the public.
Serve as events planner and manager.
Work with register to schedule CALL classes, register students and maintain UNXD course catalog (in conjunction with Red House staff).
Requirements & Qualifications
2-3 years' work experience in a professional environment/Experience working in rapidly changing, start-up-like environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with university students, staff, faculty, leadership and external partners
Proven organizational skills, ability to multitask, and high level of attention to detail
Ability to take initiative and work under minimal supervision as well as the ability to solve problems creatively
Experience in both traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media engagement
Literacy with WordPress, social media, and email newsletter management
Literacy with Microsoft Office
Interest in innovation and equity issues in higher education landscape
Previous team management and/or program management
