The Department of Art & Design at the University of Minnesota Duluth is seeking applications from qualified individuals for a full-time Tenure-Track appointment in Printmaking beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year. Ongoing professional creative activity, maintenance of the Printmaking studio, academic advising, mentorship of students, service to the department, campus, university as well as community engagement are expected.
MFA in Printmaking or a related field by 7/1/2020.
An established public exhibition record.
Familiarity with appropriate disciplinary technologies.
Knowledge of historical, theoretical, and critical aspects of the discipline.
Ability to teach foundation coursework, such as 2-D Design and/or 2-D Digital Design.
One year of experience teaching printmaking courses at the college level (Graduate TA experience is acceptable).
Experience beyond graduate school teaching of college level printmaking courses.
Experience running a printmaking studio.
Experience supervising work-study students.
Ability to teach Art 3305, Sustainability Studio:Theory and Practice, a liberal education course dealing with issues of arts and sustainability.
Ability to support the University's commitment to equity and diversity.
Enthusiasm for teaching the next generation of artists.
Familiarity with web-based instruction technology and methods.
Familiarity with broader contemporary art and design issues.
Successful grant-writing in support of creative work.
Experience with K-12 Art Education teaching or methods.
