We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Talent Acquisition to be responsible for developing, embedding, and providing direction for the execution of the Princeton University’s talent acquisition strategy across the enterprise that will be developed to source, recruit, hire, onboard, and retain candidates in a highly competitive hiring market.
Oversee the recruitment operations for staff positions across the University and lead the effort to execute talent strategies to recruit and retain a highly skilled workforce
Build and leverage internal and external partnerships and lead the Talent Acquisition team in building a strategic, agile and highly customer focused function which is aimed at delivering outcomes.
Establish service standards for recruitment operations.
Develop forecasts for hiring needs based on growth plans.
Prepare and review the annual recruitment budget.
Design, develop, and measure key recruitment metrics to ensure a productive, high performing talent acquisition operation.
Lead the development, redesign, and implementation of processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness of services provided.
Enhance and maintain a superior customer service culture in support of the University’s dynamic employee population, and in consideration of the competitive labor markets in the region as well as among top higher education institutions nationally.
Assess the effectiveness of current talent acquisition strategy, structure and processes, and create a strategy using best practices to attract and retain top talent.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience in leading talent acquisition for an employee population within a professional and highly regarded service focused organization.
Excellent business writing, communication skills, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated emotional intelligence and experience with and a personal orientation toward a collaborative approach to work and the ability to influence an outcome through a consultative methodology.
Ability to work independently and to work effectively as leader or member in teams, on taskforces, and committees; strong commitment to client focused, relationship-based service.
Exceptional consultative and facilitation skills; strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish rapport and credibility with a wide range of constituencies and at every level; ability to navigate conflict effectively and influence across lines of authority across all levels of an organization.
Understanding of organizational development and effectiveness methodologies and practical approaches; demonstrated maturity and persistence to work toward diversity and inclusion goals effectively.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical implementation; excellent change management, project management and process improvement skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex initiatives and projects serving various customers with available resources; ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities.

A sense of humor.
Solid understanding of sourcing techniques, processes and technology tools such as social networks to attract potential candidates and serve as a thought leader to promote leading edge practices.
Extensive experience leveraging new technology, digital and social media branding to achieve organizational hiring objectives.
Strong business acumen and cognizance around workforce/talent trends with the ability to successfully partner with the human resources team in long term strategic workforce planning which directly impacts success of future strategic goals.
Understanding of and ability to build short term operational workforce plans in partnership with hiring leaders.
Advocate for and experience in developing appropriate metrics to measure the impact of the talent acquisition strategy and service level agreements with key stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships with external teams, external partners and candidates.
Experience leveraging HCM, ATS and Candidate Onboarding systems to develop and measure hiring, retention and turnover metrics.
Experience in managing, mentoring and developing a team; acting as a mentor, a guide and support mechanism.
Experience in managing vendor relations and contract negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to influence across lines of authority and lead colleagues toward diverse perspectives and common goals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications and knowledge of iCIMS preferred.
Advanced degree, certification(s), or advanced training in human resources related fields preferred.
