The Externship Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of the Center for Workforce Development and is responsible for externship site assignment, assisting students with resume development and interviewing readiness, monitoring students during the externship period, interfacing with employers, and reviewing final grades before they are submitted by instructors.

Identify externship placement opportunities for students and prepare, guide and work with students to ensure their success with work-based experiences.
Support students during externships, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships and job placement.
Market Professional Education Programs to prospective students
Enroll students and enter information in Jenzabar and Excel formats
Help ensure student success and refer students to services as needed
Monitor student attendance, follow-ups on student absences and provides referrals to support services as necessary.
Assist with collecting data to analyze, and evaluating program performance.
Participate in Open Registration activities.
Coordinate set-up for various events and programs.
Orders supplies for programs, as needed.
Serve students in a way that practices inclusion and respects the strengths and differences of all people seeking adult education for academic, occupational, professional, and cultural enhancement.
Attend college and community events to promote and recruit for Lifelong Learning programs.
Attend campus meetings and serves on committees, as required.
Participate in Commencement ceremonies.
Work Schedule: Flexible including nights and weekends
Prior experience in an urban community college and/or with diverse populations.
Experience: 2-3 years proven experience in marketing and outreach for workforce development programs including grant funded programs
Proven ability to build and manage strong relationships the community and with business partners
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
Experience with data management and analysis
Committed to continuous quality improvement and attention to detail
Demonstrated positive and proactive approach to problem solving and developing innovative solutions to address challenges.
Ability to multitask and manage competing projects
Skilled at Microsoft computer applications including: Word Excel and PowerPoint
