The Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the research project manager for studies of educational change at the Learning Research and Development Center.
This position is located at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences.
1) Conducting and coordinating research activities associated with ongoing projects including an educational research study on state policy actions related to federal reform initiatives and an examination of new initiatives in two public high schools
2) Managing the IRB submission and renewal processes for ongoing and new research projects
3) Overseeing activities of the Learning Policy Center (including maintenance of the website)
4) Managing office staff of work-study and graduate students. Incumbent should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
The incumbent must have the ability to interact effectively and efficiently with internal and external contacts at all levels and to organize, set priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and complete work in a timely and efficient manner. Considerable initiative, independent judgment, and attention to detail required. Experience with budgets is a plus.
The position requires a Master's degree in education, psychology sociology or related field and three years or more experience in a research environment, including database searching expertise; supervisory experience strongly desired.
