The CCI MS Online Program Manager (OPM) is responsible for managing CCI's new online master's concentration in strategic and digital communication as part of CCI's MS in communication and information (MSCI). The OPM plans, implements, directs, and grows online CCI MS program in areas of student recruiting and admissions, academic advising, student records and tracking, working with faculty teaching in the online concentration, assessment, and enrollment management.
Position responsibilities include:
Admissions and Advising: Develop and implement admissions criterion. Coordinate and oversee admission processes for online graduate concentration. Work in conjunction with CCI Associate Dean for Academic Programs/Director of Graduate Studies, School Directors, & Graduate Admissions to facilitate admissions process. Conduct pre-admission advising sessions through one-on-one meetings (in-person, phone, web-based and email) Meet with and provide information to prospective students on the application process for admission. Evaluate transcripts of prospective students and provide feedback. Serve as the primary advisor for MSCI online students from admission through graduation. Evaluate student progress and provide ongoing direction to ensure successful outcomes for students.
Program Development and Enrollment Management: Plan, implement, and manage the online CCI MS program. Evaluate program requirements: to help determine organizational design and to strategically implement academic, curricular, and policy changes. Oversee the storage and maintenance of up-to-date student files and records, program files and spreadsheets and email listservs. Manage enrollment records as well as admissions data, class profile, assessment learner outcomes, and retention and graduation rates. Compile and analyze statistical data including retention rates, advising numbers, and other requests as needed; present and provide student information and program assessment information to CCI faculty, staff and administrators . Collaborate with CCI Associate Dean for Academic Programs/Director of Graduate Studies, School Directors and online teaching faculty to ensure college, departmental, and program goals are aligned, implemented, and modified as needed. Collaborate with student support services across campus, including One Stop, University Registrar, Graduate School, etc. to elicit support centrally from the university in defining and delivering the full range of student services available to online program participants and to develop additional student support services as needed.
Recruitment and Communications: Develop marketing and recruiting strategies to enhance program enrollments and growth as well as increase visibility of the online program concentration; collaborate with CCI communication & marketing personnel. Manage all communications with current and prospective students including collaborating with college communication and marketing & IT staff to keep academic program information up-to-date on the College's website and in marketing materials; represent CCI at recruiting events on campus, in the community, and at other colleges and universities. Other duties include: Supervision of and/or collaboration with CCI online concentration personnel; attend College of Communication and Information Administrative Committee and faculty/staff meetings; Attend College of Communication and Information Graduate Studies Committee Meetings; attend university-wide meetings as needed; participate in TennACADA, the local affiliate of the National Academic Advising Association; participate in professional development activities, seminars and meetings; and assist with projects and duties as needed.
