The Physical Security Manager will manage the overall physical security program for Portland State University including program development, trend analysis, site assessments, advising on capital projects, and management of the day to day activities of physical security systems such as cameras, security alarms, access control and lighting.
*Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 6 years experience in field related to Physical Security Management; *Extensive knowledge of access control solutions, IP based physical security systems, and remote surveillance/monitoring technologies; *Basic knowledge of computing systems, software, hardware and networks; *Familiarization with multiple aspects of physical security; *Demonstrated project management and training skills; *Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills; *Demonstrated ability to interact with vendors for successful and on-budget completion of projects; *Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage time and people; *Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot, resolve and document problems; *Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate policies, practices and procedures to external and internal partners; *Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to provide technical and project leadership; *Possession of a valid State-issued driver’s license; *Successful completion of a background investigation.
*Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in related field, including Computer Science, Physical Security, Network Security; *Experience working in higher education or similar campus-based environment; *Knowledge of information systems, data management and security practices and techniques relating to an education environment; *Industry recognized security certifications, ie PSP, CPP.
