The Environmental Health and Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring facility operations comply with legislation. This includes industrial hygiene monitoring, indoor air quality evaluations, fungal investigations, and environmental sampling.
Completing field work under the direction of a Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
The work involves calibration of field sampling equipment as necessary.
Travel to client sites, set-up of sampling equipment, review of site conditions and collection of field data.
Development of field reports for submission to the Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements
Computer knowledge and excellent verbal communication skills desired
Should possess good organizational skills and time management practices
Maintain a professional attitude while under stress.
Manage conflicting priorities and deadlines, which may require overtime
Completed or working toward an applicable degree in industrial hygiene, safety, environmental engineering, or similar; with a background in chemistry or biology
Minimum 6 months – 1 year of related experience an asset
