Our IS Operations department has an excellent opportunity for a Project Business Analyst in either the Firmwide One Cleveland Center, Columbus, Cincinnati, Denver or Philadelphia office. This is an exempt position that reports to the Senior Project Business Analyst and works closely with Project Managers to achieve deliverables necessary to complete projects on schedule. This role will perform project business analysis activities in the following areas of a project: Needs Assessment, Planning, Analysis, Traceability & Monitoring, and Evaluation. This role requires excellent organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines, work with little supervision, and collaborate with other members of the team.
Demonstrable experience with Project Management Institute (PMI) business analysis best practices, documentation requirements, roles and responsibilities.
Develop “as-is” current business workflows and “to-be” future state business workflows.
Elicit and document business requirements and secure approval for business requirements (functional & technical designs).
Use defined business requirements and appropriate project business analyst (PBA) tools and techniques to assist in development of use-cases.
Use appropriate change control procedures and process documentation evidence to ensure user adoption efforts are undertaken.
Identify cross-workstream dependencies and the impact on downstream working groups which is essential for implementation.
Provide overall project leadership for the testing phases as needed. These deliverables can include, but are not limited to, documented test plans, test scenario documentation in ChangePoint Daptiv system (Project and Portfolio toolset), assignment of resources to test matrices and test scripts, along with deviation tracking. Depending on the size of the project, the following test phases can include unit, compatibility, system integration (SIT), performance and end-user acceptance testing.
Provide timely communication to the Project Manager on deliverables, including project status, issues, risks, PBA deliverable documentation by phase gate, etc.
Work with business leaders to gain commitment for end-user engagement and adherence to Baker’s PM Methodology procedures. Education of Baker’s PM and BA Methodology and procedures may be required.
Assist Project Manager with building established PBA phases and tasks into the Project Schedule. Track updated accomplishments, milestones, key issues, risk and/or change controls.
Assist project sponsors and stakeholders with the Project Intake Process and all deliverables through the Project Lifecycle.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and 5-7 years of project business analyst work or project management experience. Law firm experience and/or a certification in IIBA or PMI- PBA is highly desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency in productivity software, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
Ability to interact effectively with attorneys and other key personnel, manage expectations with the business given IS Resource capacity, and exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy and professionalism in these interactions.
Experience leading strategic initiatives such as large-scale system integration. Ability to lead and facilitate discussions with senior managers and/or Project Managers while soliciting key decisions. Comfortable leading discussions in a cross-functional group for issue triage and resolution.
Strong project management skills. Project and team management experience with attention to detail and a willingness to “roll up sleeves” and operate at whatever level is needed to accomplish tasks.
A tolerance for uncertainty and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
