Kitsap County Public Works is seeking a Solid Waste professional that is a proven leader and is passionate about conserving natural resources and reducing impacts to land, water, air and climate. The successful candidate will also be committed to providing environmental and cost-effective facilities and services.
This position is responsible for administering and managing the Kitsap County Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department to insure proper planning, construction, repair, operation, and maintenance of the solid waste systems and programs that serve Kitsap County, as well as its cities, tribal nations, and military bases.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in environmental science, engineering, public administration or related field; and
Five years of professional experience in solid and moderate risk waste planning and operations, waste reduction and recycling activities; and
Experience performing statistical data analysis, grant writing/management, project management, budget, and public speaking; and
Three years of supervisory experience supervising professional, technical and trades staff; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the work.
