Position Purpose:The Membership Recruitment Specialist is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to increase awareness and participation within SAEM.
Identify, develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to increase awareness and participation within SAEM by researching market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information relevant to academic EM
Develop and implement strategies for recruitment and cultivation of new members, including the creation of new member benefits and regular solicitation of member feedback
Execute SAEM OnBoarding Program and maintain the integrity of new member reports
Works with cross-functional team to determine or develop innovative techniques to ensure the effective delivery of recruitment strategies
Implement campaigns directed at recruitment of new members
Promotes and assists with SAEM meetings, events and activities that drive membership recruitment endeavors
Maintain EMIG Roster
Develop goals and action plans for membership development and retention.
Provide analysis of existing membership materials as well as membership retention rates and opportunities for improvement
Maintain regular member outreach
Curate SAEM virtual resources for members
Ensure that the membership offering is clearly presented through digital channels, onsite for visitors, and across SAEM’s wider public program activities
Research and acquire opportunities to promote membership via partnerships or third party affiliates
Provides administrative and clerical support; including data processing, correspondence and mailings of materials
Serves as a staff liaison to committees and interest groups
Generates ad hoc reports for membership as needed
Provides membership support via email and phone calls with password resets, professional category and institution changes
Processes registration for the SAEM Annual Meeting as needed
Assists with events during Annual Meeting
Other duties that might be assigned by supervisor
Qualifications: Ideal candidates must possess the following:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combinations of education, training, and/or experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position
Two years of sales or recruiting experience with a proven ability to meet/exceed goals
Preference of experience with membership sales and/or volunteer recruitment
Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Previous work experience in a non-profit preferred.
Ability to work with people of diverse racial, ethnic and economic backgrounds and promote an inclusive environment
Ability to prioritize and track projects running concurrently
Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook,
Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and common sense
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and able to problem solve and self-direct
Capable of working under pressure and handling multiple demands/heavy volume
Possess the character, skills, and ability to be a positive influencer.
