Lead Estimator & Project Manager

Wilson & Company, Inc., General Contractors, is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator that has worked for a General Contractor with 5 + years of experience or a Trainee with construction experience and the skill set to become a Commercial Construction Estimator.

Wilson & Company, Inc. builds Office, Medical, Industrial, and Retail Commercial Construction Projects. Our offices are located in Oviedo, FL, a suburb of Metropolitan Orlando in Seminole County. We are seeking a candidate that has these attributes:

• A thorough knowledge of the construction industry is required and experience with pre-construction or negotiated work is highly desired
• Outgoing, people-oriented person that develops relationships easily
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills; time management capabilities; detail-oriented, self-motivated person; basic understanding of financial and cost control procedures; a person who has a strong desire to learn and grow
• A BSBCN or BSCE degree or related is desired, but experience will also be considered

Duties:

• Working with Bid Coordinator or others to prepare hard bids, conceptual proposals, and negotiated bids
• Solicitation and coordination of sub-contractors while building relationships
• Assisting Project Managers with preparation of change orders for work in progress
• Expertise in reading and preparing quantity take-off and scoping construction documents along with good computer skills
• Managing multiple projects at once

Qualifications:

• Degree in construction related field - recommended but not required
• Must have good writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Strongly recommend having a varied/broad industry background
• Must be able to relocate if needed
