Department Description The Purchasing Department provides centralized purchasing services to the UC Davis Medical Center. Limited delegation of purchasing authority has been extended to select UC Davis Medical Center departments in recognition of their unique needs. This position is also responsible for developing comprehensive clinical and utilization protocols, developing and executing product and device standardization plan for the entire system. This position is expected to build strategic alliances with key stakeholders in order to successfully execute against Supply Chain Strategy. Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that have organization-wide effect. Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in high value and volume sourcing.
Experience with leading and advising cross-organization workgroups.
Experience with cost modeling and related financial analyses to manage, prepare, administer, and direct the control of the budget/organizational resources.
Advance customer service and interpersonal skills and experience coordinating work with others, both internally and externally, to accomplish tasks.
Experience and proven knowledge of sourcing policies, practices and state-of-the-art electronic sourcing systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills, listening, critical thinking and analytical skills.
Advanced organization skills, including meeting facilitation and decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent business experience/training.
Advanced degree in related field.
Project management experience.
Keys to success in this role include sound judgement and excellent written/verbal communication skills. The candidate should be able to extract insights from data and be able to communicate appropriately.
