Provides a variety of clerical & administrative support which may include drafting & typing letters, reports, charts, graphs, etc. using word processing, spreadsheet, database, &/or presentation software; basic bookkeeping; screening calls & visitors; preparing agendas & making arrangements including travel, etc. for meetings & special events; &/or managing supervisor's &/or dept calendar. The Program Assistant of Art Labs is responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Art Labs in managing and maintaining the Department of Art Theory and Practice studios and activities.
**This is a 10-month a year position. This is part-time benefit eligible opening.
Enters information into spreadsheets &/or databases.
Compiles routine reports, statistics, tables, charts, etc. from readily available information.
Uploads content to faculty/dept website.
Enters, tracks, & maintains documentation & logs of financial transactions.
Assists with reconciliation of accounts.
Maintains inventory & orders supplies.
Resolves payment & delivery problems.
Coordinates events which may include scheduling rooms &/or guest speaker & arranging for routine materials, technology & refreshments.
Assist the Coordinator of Art Labs in maintaining studios in all media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, multi-use studios, and the graduate studios.
Provides information via phone, e-mail, mail, etc.
Represents supervisor in routine/standard situations with various levels of personnel both internally & externally.
Provide resource instruction and assistance to students and faculty, including woodshop, digital printing, and A V equipment.
Manage and maintain A V checkout equipment
Manage and maintain darkroom
Manage and maintain computer lab
Supervises work of temporary &/or work-study students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or its equivalent required.
2 years of administrative support or other relevant experience is required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs is required.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Bachelors or Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art.
Experience with multiple media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, digital and analog photography.
3 - 5 years Art Studio experience with multiple media.
Basic woodshop and construction knowledge, including use of table saw, miter saw, and drill.
Strong problem solving skills and personal initiative.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Intermediate woodshop and construction knowledge, including most power tools and techniques.
Intermediate computer skills, including Adobe products. (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier)
