As a critical role in NYU’s University Development and Alumni Relations’ (UDAR’s) marketing and communications, develop, write, and create content marketing and write and edit high-level communications for University senior leaders and volunteers. Conduct research and carry out special projects. Advance University and UDAR priorities through engaging messaging presented in various formats to a diverse range of constituents. Define and establish content parameters, including overall tone, intended audience, length, and timeliness; review draft material for content, syntax, and clarity; and ensure consistency with content created by the office. Serve as lead writer and content developer for a number of programs and campaigns including video, integrated marketing campaigns (such as NYU Alumni Changemakers), event marketing, and internal communications. As part of a team that supports more than 700 events per year, this role will lead event communications for select important donor and alumni events in support of the University’s engagement and fundraising goals. Project work to include leadership talking points and scripting; copy for event marketing and correspondence; and internal and external communications plans. Working across the University, this role will provide content, write, and edit materials for all UDAR channels (email, social, website, magazine, and print collateral). Take on special projects as needed.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in English or Journalism is preferred
Required Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Experience: Experience working in an academic or non-profit environment preferred. Keen understanding of major issues within higher education. Experience with speechwriting.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: -Proficient in Email Marketing and Marketing Automation (Marketo a plus)
-Have knowledge of CRM and databases
