Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Three (3) years of full-time working experience with hardware or software supporting, troubleshooting, configuration, installation and maintenance. Working experience of basic networking and supporting Windows 10 or Windows 7.
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Additional years (4+) of IT Support experience. Working experience with clinical applications. Knowledge of Crystal Report, Tableau or other reporting tools. Knowledge of SQL, Python or other programming languages.
Brief Description of Duties:
At Stony Brook Dental Medicine, the Lead Programmer Analyst, a valuable member of our IT team will support, monitor and manage clinical, educational and assessment systems within the School of Dental Medicine (SDM). This individual may be assigned to a project, or support any information systems to ensure the availability of the applications. The Lead Programmer Analyst's work will be overseen by the senior members of the team as needed.
Respond to all incoming requests for dental clinical IT support. Prioritize and troubleshoot problems with the function and performance of hardware and software products, and affecting remedies. Assist end-users in identifying technical problems arising from hardware and software systems. Provide support for the various applications, implementations and upgrades. Provide hardware support for individual workstations, application servers and other information systems in SDM clinics. Collaborate with vendors and internal resources to implement and upgrade system versions, resolve open issues.
Administer and support Axium (EHR), train end users in relation to their responsibilities and needs. Administer and support digital imaging environment (PACS) and a variety of other clinical software and associated hardware when applicable.
Assist team in maintenance of existing report catalog, improve performance and accuracy of existing reports and create new reports. Collaborate with staff on new projects or application upgrades. Contribute to improving the organization's IT development by researching and introducing new, useful technologies of the industry.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
This is a full time appointment. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
