DEVELOPMENT PORTFOLIO ACCOUNTANT , MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo) , to be responsible for accounting- and finance-related tasks with respect to MITIMCo's high profile real estate portfolio located in Cambridge. The portfolio has a current gross market value of approximately $3 billion, is comprised of multiple asset types, and is expected to grow significantly over the coming decade. Responsibilities include partnering with the development team, third party project managers, and internal capex core team to work towards maximizing Yardi's Job Cost functionality; assisting with enhancing the policies and procedures for development accounting related workflows and processes; ensuring projects are correctly documented and managed in relevant systems; addressing accounting- and finance-related requests and questions of the CRE development team; assisting with RE development valuation process; tracking the TI cost sharing process to ensure that tenant reimbursements are being received in a timely manner; monthly, quarterly, and yearly detailed review of project financials; ensuring accuracy of capital accruals; partnering with other team members to transition properties from development to operations and vice versa; assisting, as needed, with GSA audits of Volpe development site; ensuring proper allocation of shared development project costs; and participating in ad-hoc projects/initiatives.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : three years' development accounting experience; bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related discipline; strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with Yardi Job Cost; excellent critical thinking, analytical, organizational, time-management, and oral and written communication skills; comfort working through an iterative process; and ability to multitask, communicate effectively with people at all levels, resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner, and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
