The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is the center for Jewish Philanthropy in the Palm Beaches. With total annual philanthropy results of close to $30 million in Fiscal Year 2019, Federation supports and enriches the lives of people in Jewish households locally, nationally, in Israel, and around the world. Our future is bright with one of the largest Jewish communities in North America and with approximately $100MM under management and 400 legacy donors in the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) from endowments, trusts, supporting foundations, donor advised funds, and charitable gift annuities.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Executive Director, Foundation/Vice President, Development is the principal professional leader for Federation’s planned giving and endowments department, which is called the Jewish Community Foundation, and a senior manager for Federation more broadly. The incumbent will provide strategy and oversight of the JCF—with a goal of growing Foundation assets to sustain the Jewish community—in partnership with the Chair and Vice Chairs of the JCF, members of the JCF Board of Trustees, Federation’s President & CEO, CDO and CFO, and peers on the Senior Team of Financial Resource Development.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. • Master’s degree in relevant field or related certification is a plus. • Seven years+ experience in fundraising, with experience working with high-net worth individuals on major and planned gifts. • Must possess an understanding of and practice in planned giving as defined by the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) • Program strategy development and execution experience. Individual and team success in securing and maintaining 6-figure+ accounts and/or philanthropy. • Demonstrated ability in prospect identification, relationship building, strategizing and solicitation of charitable planned gifts or similar estate planning experience. • Working knowledge in estate planning techniques laws regarding planned gifts. • Proven ability to manage complex organizational relationships and work effectively with executive leadership. • Experience with supervision of both administrative and professional staff. • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to write and present persuasively. • Strong organizational skills. • Demonstrated effectiveness in outreach to volunteers and other fundraising partners. • Interest in the Jewish community and commitment to the goals of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.
