The Registrar’s Office is committed to providing inclusive student services and support by maintaining student records with a high degree of accuracy and integrity, facilitating student registration, developing transparent registrar-related policies and processes, and providing resources for successful academic progression and completion.
Reporting to the Chief Student Services Officer, the Senior Registrar will work closely with instructional and operational leadership, including, but not limited to, the Vice Provost of Campus Affairs, Campus Deans, Dean of Student Affairs, National Operations, and Student Services colleagues to oversee the maintenance of student records and the student registration process across all Relay campuses. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a desire to build a strong team culture and leverage their project planning and strategic thinking skills, partnership-building, and people management skills to deliver an important and vital service to Relay’s students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set a vision for all registrar functions at Relay and invest team members and key stakeholders in that vision
Coach and develop a team consisting of 5 full-time team members and a number of seasonal, temporary staff members
Supervise enrollment and degree verification-related activities, including the processing of term Student Academic Progress (SAP), Relay transcripts, and Relay diplomas
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students in accordance with Relay policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws (e.g. FERPA)
Oversee all activities related to student registration, including the work of the curriculum design team in entering course metadata in the institutional Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS), in collaboration with the academic programs team
Serve as the internal consultant for campus dean’s offices on registrar functions
Set, maintain, and publicize term dates
Develop, maintain, and execute the reenrollment and transfer process and policy for all campuses and programs (includes transferring credits)
Ensure that all staff at Relay have accessibility to registrar-related information (e.g., student registration processing)

First and foremost, the Senior Registrar must share Relay’s commitment to fostering student achievement through phenomenal teacher training. Additionally, candidates for the position must have the following:
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred
At least 7 years of work experience in a higher educational or related setting (e.g. urban education or nonprofit administration)
A track record of successful management, which a preference for demonstrated strong team leadership
Strong project management skills paired with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources
Acute attention to detail and a focus on efficiency and systems building
Excellent communication skills
A strong sense of humor coupled with an ability to work efficiently, intensely, and within an entrepreneurial environment
A demonstrated passion for urban education and closing opportunity gaps
