MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The candidate for the position of Collaboration Engineer must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer information systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Two years of experience in information technology.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting various collaboration tools such as Office 365, G Suite, Confluence, JIRA, Dropbox, Qualtrics, and other similar tools.
Experience with system tools such as Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, and email routers.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
Ability to use automation tools such as PowerShell, Unix shell, and APIs.
Experience presenting ideas and solutions in non-technical, business-friendly terms.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply pertinent service-level agreements, policies, procedures, regulations, and other requirements.
Proven ability to translate large quantities of complex input into actionable outcomes.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate for the position of Collaboration Engineer has the following qualifications:

Four or more years of experience in information technology.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The Collaboration Engineer integrates and supports a broad range of collaboration tools to optimize customer and stakeholder productivity. The Collaboration Engineer works with campus customers, business partners, and key stakeholders in administrative and academic units to provide best-in-class services by identifying and implementing new tools and modernizing existing tools to enhance the customer experience at USC. As a member of ITS, the Collaboration Engineer demonstrates ITS values in action.
The Collaboration Engineer:
Works with key stakeholders across the organization, including vendor partners, to deliver collaboration services. Communicates positively and effectively with others.
Analyzes the need for collaboration tool enhancements by evaluating the effectiveness of current applications. Gathers qualitative feedback from campus customers to inform decisions on new products and upgrades.
Seeks to understand customer and stakeholder needs. Provides troubleshooting support for issues escalated by the Customer Experience team. Develops and maintains tutorials and training resources.
Facilitates innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging the latest in industry knowledge. Takes the initiative to experiment with new ideas.
Keeps current with new collaboration technologies. Continually develops skills, knowledge, and abilities in collaboration technologies. Maintains awareness of emerging technologies and makes recommendations on adoption.
Understands and utilizes best practices to effectively troubleshoot and solve problems. Analyzes highly complex, diverse, and, at times, conflicting data to identify root causes. Makes sound decisions to benefit the organization.
